The Charm
A Second Chance at Love
After years of building a life alone following a tragic loss, Liz Thompson has learned to be content—if not quite whole.
Then Tyler walks back into her life.
He’s a high school friend who sparks something she thought was gone forever. But falling in love again means confronting the guilt that haunts her, the fear that she doesn’t deserve this second chance, and the terrifying possibility that opening her heart could lead to even more devastation.
When tragedy strikes again, Liz must decide: Will she let the past define her future, or will she fight for the love that could finally make her whole?
Inhaling deeply, I pour my coffee, and the rich aroma fills my senses. A movement catches my eye as a beautiful bluebird lands on the kitchen windowsill, its vibrant blue feathers blending in with the morning sky.
Its cheerful chirp breaks the morning silence, drawing my gaze from the steaming mug in my hands. The bluebird chirps again, which I find incredibly relaxing, and I can’t seem to move as I watch its tiny head move in coordination with the calming chirps.
Moments later, the bluebird gracefully flies away, leaving me to wonder if it sees its breakfast moving in the damp grass.
